A variety of information is available to assist patrons in searching local history and genealogy of Loudonville and the surrounding area. Most items are reference materials, however, there are also items available that can be checked out to the public.

  • Genealogy books can assist beginners as well as advanced researchers in tracking down families and/or where to search for needed record information.

  • Submitted published family histories from local area families.

  • Heritage Quest - An online genealogy search service that is available for use on the computer in the local history room. Heritage Quest covers the U.S. Census as well as published materials. Patrons can view actual pages from books and census records. To access Heritage Quest you will need to go to the Ohio Web Library database.

  • Loudonville High School yearbooks for many of the classes from 1923 to present.

  • Loudonville High School Newspapers - The Redbird from 1946 to 2004. Current years of the Redbird are available online.

  • Collections of cookbooks published by local organizations including schools, churches, Friends of the Library, fire department, and clubs

  • A vertical file that contains news clippings, brochures, maps, and information about Loudonville, it's citizens and surrounding area. Both current and historical.

  • Cemetery listings for several local burial locations including Loudonville and Perrysville.

  • Microfilm of the area newspapers past and present.
