There is a variety of information that is available to assist patrons in searching information regarding Loudonville and the surrounding area. Most of the items in the collection cannot be used outside the library, but there are exceptions and the Library also links to online resources that will aid your search. The Beem Room offers a computer and microfilm reader to assist those with their research.

Research assistance is available by contacting the library regarding your research request. If you are searching for a particular obituary, please check the Obituary Index to determine if we have access to a copy that we can find for you.

Loudonville Redbird

Are you a Loudonville High School alumni who wrote for the school newspaper? Or are you one who embraced school and all it had to offer with sports, clubs, organizations or music? Or maybe you just want to refresh your memory of events and friends?

That is possible, as the Beem Room has the collection of Loudonville High School newspapers from their very first publication The Test Tube published January 27, 1939, which was at the time available to purchase for $0.03, to the most recent publication The Redbird. The undertaking of an official school newspaper began with the printing of the January 14, 1946 issue titled Redbird Chatter. That name remained until the November 1, 1946 edition when it became known simply as The Redbird, and remains so today.

Stop in and spend some time remembering your school days through these windows into your past. Be sure to check out the single issues of The Test Tube and Loudonville Lariat.
