Teacher Collections
School teachers and home school instructors are welcome to request that library staff develop "teacher collections" on their behalf. Teachers/instructors should fill out a Teacher Collection Request Form, indicating the types of materials (picture books, DVDs, etc.), desired subject matter, and number of items that they would like accumulated. The form can then be dropped off at the library or faxed to 419-994-4321. Requests for teacher collections can also be made over the phone by calling 419-994-5531.
Staff in the Children's Department will work to bring together materials from LPL and other libraries. The library will contact you when all of the requested items have arrived and the collection is complete. Teacher collections can be checked out and taken to the classroom, or staff can develop a collection that will not leave the library, ensuring that all of your students will have access to the items at the library for a class project or report. Because items can take some time to arrive from other libraries, please allow ten days for your collection to be completed.
This service is great for any teacher looking to bring together a variety of materials on a certain topic or subject for class instruction. We even do the work of finding and requesting the items for you.
